KSCA Hall of Fame
 

Beginning with its inaugral class of 2006, the KSCA has chosen to recognize present and past members of the association who have been leaders and pioneers in the fields of speech communication and drama education in the state of Kansas.  Members to this elite group are drawn from the ranks of secondary, high school, college and university instructors.  Up to three new members may be added every year to each section of the KSCA Hall of Fame - Secondary/High School and College/University.

Outstanding Teachers of the Year
 

Each year the Kansas Speech Communication Association honors members for their lifelong service to the profession of speech education. The award winners are announced each year during the KSCA convention. Virtually every year, both a High School and a College recipient are selected for these honors.

Scholarship
    Every year the KSCA awards a $500 scholarship to a deserving student who has completed at least 60 hours of study at a Kansas university or college and who has declared a major in speech communication and/or theatre education.  The recipient must be seeking a degree at a Kansas university or college.

Preference is given to students who (1) demonstrate a strong background in speech communication, (2) excel in their classroom studies, (3) plan to seek employment in the state of Kansas, and (4) have a history of dedication to speech communication.

Applications shall include relevant background information as well as a double-spaced typewritten essay on approximately 250 words on the subject “My Interest in Speech Communication and Theatre Education”, two letters of reference, and a copy of their college transcript.

Emeritus Status
 

Periodically, the KSCA has chosen to recognize present and past members of the association who, though no longer actively teaching in the fields of speech communication and drama education in the state of Kansas, have made an lasting impact upon the profession.  Members of this body are drawn from the ranks of secondary, high school, college and university instructors.
